What's new in Makeup Courses? Sydney makeup academy TAFMUA has just announced a new 10 week course in Special FX makeup for students wanting to kick start their career as a special FX makeup artist. Conducted over 10 weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30am-4:30pm this comprehensive SFX course will be delivered by veteran SFX makeup artist and educator Mr David Willis. Forming part of our Diploma course students can also take the Special FX makeup modules in combination with our Advanced Certificate In Makeup course.
The first makeup Academy to offer a solid 10 week program in Special FX makeup students will be given formal training in casualty and moulage makeup, bald cap making and application, character makeup and hair application, how to make and apply prosthetics, life casting, 3D transfer making and application and more. As part of the course students also get to work behind the scenes on a short film and observe the movie making process.
