This course has been especially designed for students still at high school or that have recently left high school to pursue a career as a makeep artist. The 3 day courses teaches the underlying principles in makeup application as well as providing industry insight and information on career pathways including how to get work, where to get work, rates for assistants under 18, work experience and job etiquette. This course is divided into 12 sessions and includes theory as well as 5-6 hours of practical work. Each student needs to bring a model on the second day for their practical session and on the 3rd day the students learn all about the industry from an international celebrity makeup artist and job interview preparation including creating a resume.

 

Upon completion of this course students receive a certificate of achievement.

1 Day Intro To Special FX

 

Not for the faint hearted!

 

Duration: 6hrs Sunday 10:30am - 4:30pm

Cost: $399

Class size: Maximum 12 students

Ages: 12-18

 

The 1 day intro to SFX workshop is suitable for students without any previous experience in SFX. At the end of the course students will know how to use materials and apply them to create burns, cuts, bruises, black eyes, tears, scars, blood, sweat and a broken nose!

This workshop covers equipment use and includes a practical session.

Students that complete this workshop will be eligible for the advanced SFX course that follows on directly from this 1 day workshop. Discounts apply if you book all 4 days upfront.

4 Day Advanced Special FX 

 

Learn professional Special FX makeup application for TV and Film.

 

Duration: 4 days 10:30am - 4:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during NSW school holiday terms

Cost: $1100

Class size: Maximum 12 students

Ages: 12-18

 

This course is suitable for students and makeup artists that have some basic knowledge of Special FX makeup. The 4 day  course is perfect for students wanting to pursue a freelance career in TV, film and stage makeup. On the last day of the course students receive a certificate including a transcript of the subjects studied and will be eligible for work experience in the area of Special FX.

This course is also an elective as part of the Foundation In Makeup course and includes theory, demonstrations and practice. All products and materials supplied.
